The NHS requires every practice to have a PPG.
As a Patient Participation Group (PPG) we are a small group of volunteers, all patients of the surgeries, who meet regularly with practice management to exchange ideas and experiences and to deliver any feedback received from patients.
PPG volunteers often have specific interest that they choose to concentrate on such as Dementia or Palliative Care, while others bring more general expertise, for example, in Training or Technology.
It's a diverse group with a wide range of interests and skills who together, make a dynamic team focused on making a positive impact. There is always room for one more!
Not at all! The PPG is a fantastic vehicle for all patients to share their thoughts and opinions on non-personal matters by simply making them known to us. It's all about giving you a voice and, as patients, presenting your perspective directly to the practice. Your feedback matters, and the PPG is here amongst other things to make sure your insights are heard loud and clear.
On the flip side, playing a more active part in the PPG means you're willing to invest some additional time and actively engage in the exciting projects happening within the practice.
Whichever path you choose, we value your perspective and commit to providing a supportive environment where your opinions are heard and carefully considered.
Currently we meet once a month at the surgery. Previously we were meeting virtually via MS Teams. The meetings are normally in the evenings after 5pm.
If you don't have the time to spare to commit fully to the PPG then don’t worry – you can still be part of a larger group and receive significant updates via email and an occasional Zoom meeting invitation.
We've all been there—as a patient, carer, parent, or friend, we've experienced the ins and outs of visiting the surgery. And guess what? Your experiences truly matter! You bring a unique perspective and a fresh set of ideas that can help us enhance patient care and improve our practice.
By actively participating in the PPG, you not only contribute your valuable insights but also gain a deeper understanding of the NHS and how it operates. It's an opportunity to broaden your knowledge, engage with fellow patients, and gather feedback from others who share similar experiences.
Together, we can make a positive impact on the way local healthcare is delivered in our community so why not join us on the PPG?
